Retail Sales & Operations Manager - FMCG - Athens - Greece

Our client is an international cosmetics brand with global revenues in excess of €1.5 billion euros. Due to their continued expansion they are looking to recruit a Retail Sales & Operations Manager for their Athens office. The role will involve high travel up to 60% of the job will be travelling to travel retail units in Europe and the Middle East.

PRINCIPAL OBJECTIVES

  • To assist the BDD to manage, develop and grow travel retail businesses (both retail sell-thru and sell-in, including new shop openings)
  • To assist the BDM to properly build RF and Budget numbers in an accurate manner
  • To manage and motivate performances of Bas (through incentive programs, performance tracking and reviews, trainings and effective communication)
  • Achieve retail sales results as set by the company.
  • Communicate and implement projects as per Brand marketing strategy.
  • Plan and execute Brand launch and promotional activities.  
  • Ensure that the agreed promotions are well implemented as per plan (follow-up with the external vendors)
  • Supervise Beauty Consultants, including schedules, quotas, holidays, commission payments etc.
  • Manage and report inventory levels, “rankings”, and review assortments per point of sale.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Customer Relations:

  • Being the Brand custodian in the airport environment and embracing day-to-day dealings with all Shop Managers and BAs.
  • Maintain exceptional working relationships with all Buyers, Category managers & Retail Team Leaders and ensuring the brand portfolio is appropriately positioned and merchandised within Company Guidelines.

Retail Sales and Promotions

  • Sales objectives: follow up on the Retail sales and Brand’s performance vs. annual objective; provide feedback and/or strategies to develop to and generate incremental sales; motivate and support the sales team on achieving monthly targets and accomplish Brand goals.
  • Support the BDD in the implementation of all store promotional calendar/value offers per agreed Global Framework in each location.
  • Manage the receipt and distribution of all collateral material belonging to promotions.
  • Coordinate decoration of all promotional and product launch activities
  • Follow up the progress and results of TR promotions in the region. 
  • Provide sales target to Beauty Advisors per promotional activity and monitor results.  Promo analysis to be presented when promotion is over, including photos.      

Products:

  • Timely submission of product listing forms to ensure orders are received on time, including presenting new innovations at local level.
  • Inventory levels: follow up proactively on inventory levels at POS to minimize the risk of out of stocks or inventory imbalance.  Communicate and insure that purchase orders are in line with the sales objectives establish for each client. 
  • Coordinate with local team (store managers and supervisors) on the maintenance, development and follow up of stock levels per point of sale.
  • Follow up on discontinued references according to established strategy.
  • Support in providing sales forecast for new promotional programs.
  • Organize product launch and promotions at store level.

Merchandising:

  • Maintain Brand image standards and improve brand visibility: “counters”, gondolas, visuals, merchandising, product catalogues, and testers.
  • Ensure space and location agreements are respected at POS level and taken action to implement according to agreements
  • Establish, manage and maintain product range according to each account strategy.     
  • Visit points of sale to provide Merchandising support.  Implement and update plannograms at POS level.

Beauty Advisor (BA):

Local sales team management:

  • Ensure the level of performance for Company Beauty Advisor / sales team is at its highest level. 
  • Ensure that BAs are clear on their job responsibilities and performance objectives: with the BDD establish targets, and provide input to the Brand strategy and marketing calendar and promotional activities and contests support the achievement of these targets.
  • Daily management of all consultants including Consultant Roster, Annual Holiday, Overtime, salary and commission calculations and all related administrative matters consultant specific.
  • Monitor monthly Beauty Advisor performance. Motivate and Coach BAs to excel and achieve retail sales.
  • Beauty Advisor tools management: update BAs uniform and “gratis” program
  • Beauty Advisor appearance and presentation: Ensure the Beauty Advisor physical appearance is in line with the company guidelines. .  
  • Training, Evaluation, Development: Work closely with the BDD to ensure specific staff trainings according to the Brand needs and strategy.
  • Responsible for the BA sales team hiring and OTJ training
  • Together with Training manager, organize regular Trainings and BA Seminars

Reports

  • Provide monthly reports to BDD with an update on the Brand performance (+/-) in each location. Report should be qualitative and quantitative.
  • Prepare and provide commission reports on the local market BAs.
  • Manage and control costs effectively
  • Monthly Competitive Report

Fluency in English is essential and  any other European language would be a distinctive advantage.
